The Android version of Bejeweled 2 is a port of Bejeweled 2 to the Android operating system. It was distributed by PopCap Games and Electronic Arts, and was released on February 19, 2011. The port is similar to that of the iOS version.

The game was delisted from the Google Play Store in 2015.

Overview

The Android version of Bejeweled 2 contains 3 game modes: Classic, Action, Endless. As well as said game modes, the Android version of Bejeweled 2 features significant changes from the original game, most similar to the iOS release of the game.

As the Android version of Bejeweled 2 is a near-identical port of the iOS version, this article describes the differences from said port.

Differences with the iOS version of Bejeweled 2

  • The game features a completely different font used throughout the entire game, which is thinner and smaller compared to the iOS version of the game.
  • The Blitz button (later an ad for Bejeweled Blitz) is replaced with an Exit button, which is used to quit the game. The More Games button is also missing.
  • The music is presented in lower quality, but the full soundtrack from the PC game (minus the title screen theme, Autonomous V2) is present in the game (in heavily compressed quality) and plays normally throughout the entire game.
  • The EA logo is shown at the beginning of the loading screen. Copyright info is also shown at the bottom of the PopCap loading screen,
  • The game features a language select feature from the options menu, and is also shown at the first start up. Languages include English, Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, Russian, French, Italian, and European Portugese.
  • Later versions of the game removes the game's landscape mode.
