Centerpiece

Treasure Shell is a limited Rare Gem in Bejeweled Blitz. It is an orange gemstone that looks like a scallop shell.

When the player begins a game with Treasure Shell activated, a special board configuration will appear. The starting layout includes a random number of unique orange gems that resemble scallop shells. Upon clearing a shell from the grid, it will explode, destroying itself plus the 13 surrounding gems in a 5×4 area shaped like a scallop shell. The base value for clearing a shell is 4,250 points. While Treasure Shell is active, Flame Gems created using orange gems will become shells instead, and shells will replace random orange gems throughout the game except during the Last Hurrah and optional Encore.

After the Last Hurrah (or Encore if the player accepted Feathered Fury's offer), a Coin bonus will occur in which nine shell icons appear in a 3×3 arrangement. When the player selects an icon, it will reveal a Coin present that will then be added to the player's Coin balance. The other icons will unveil, but not award, their prizes as well.
