描寫wiki條目時經常需要參考網絡上的各種資源，因此更多地使用這個模板可以將所參考的來源記錄下來，以便瀏覽者以及之後的編寫者找到這些來源資料。

用來列明wiki條目中來自網站的來源。新聞、圖書、期刊等不適用這個模板

引用項所在的頁數或者是所在的起始頁和終止頁，而不是在此寫明所引用書籍的總頁數。此項在引用項為PDF文件時特別有用。

必填參數（否則會報錯）

  • url: 引用項的網址。開頭必須帶有通訊協議 例如http://或https://。
  • title: 引用項的標題（原文）。
  • accessdate: 可使用ISO 8601中規定的YYYY-MM-DD格式，例如"accessdate= 2024-09-19"。

選填參數

  • trans_title：標題的中文翻譯
  • author: 作者的名字
  • *last 與 first 參數一起使用產生效果如名字, 姓名．（主要用於外國名字在前，姓氏在後的情況）。
    • authorlink參數與author一同使用，如果是與last參數和first參數一同使用則在兩個作者之間加上|。這個參數的作用是連結到相應的wiki條目，而不是鏈到外部連結。
    • coauthors: 在此處可以添加另外的共同作者。
  • date: 原文出版或發表的日期，請使用包括年、月、日的完整日期格式並與所寫條目風格保持一致。如果是與使用ISO 8601中規定的YYYY-MM-DD格式時，例如是2006-02-17，則不需要在輸入日期時加上wiki連結，它會自動被系統加上。
    • 或者使用另一種組合: year: 出版年份和month: 出版月份。如果你有詳細的日子，請使用date參數。這種方式也不需要加上wiki連結，它會自動被系統加上。
  • format: 文件格式，例如PDF文件。此項為空則被缺省認為是HTML格式。
  • work: 如果這個引用項是包括在一個更大「作品」之中，例如是一本書、一份期刊雜誌或是一個網站，那麼請寫下這個"作品"的名字。
  • publisher: 如果存在出版者--例如這個網站是由某個政府服務部門、教育機構或公司來提供運作，則可以在此輸入名字。
  • pages: pp. 5–7: 引用項所在的頁數或者是所在的起始頁和終止頁，而不是在此寫明所引用書籍的總頁數。此項在引用項為PDF文件時特別有用。
  • language: 引用項使用的語言(為中文時作為缺省情況可以不用提示)。
  • doi: 有關文檔的數位物件識別號，例如10.1038/news070508-7
    • Doilabel: 如果此DOI包括一些必須要進行URL編碼的字符，請使用"Doilabel}}"參數表明為進行URL編碼的版本。
  • archiveurl: 重要的網頁可以被類似WebCite這樣的網站存檔，這時候這個參數應該是這個存檔副本的網頁網址(需要同時使用archivedate參數)。
  • archivedate: 此文檔存檔的日期(需要同時使用archiveurl參數)，請使用ISO 8601YYYY-MM-DD格式，例如2006-02-17。不需要在輸入日期時加上wiki連結，它會自動被系統加上。這個參數不支持（美國/國際）日期格式的日期格式（它們會被顯示成錯誤的紅色連結格式）。
  • quote: 被引用的相關原文。

因title參數忘記填寫而導致的錯誤

注意事項

某些外文標點符號（“　”　‘　’）在「繁體」模式時會錯誤轉換為引號，例如：

{{Cite web|url=http://zh.wikipedia.org|title=“Title text”}} 顯示為：

「Title text」.

這時應為其添加非中文的language參數，例如language=en，此時標題的轉換會關閉，效果：

「Title text」 (en).

日文漢字被錯誤轉換時請添加language=ja。

使用“Title text”也可強制不轉換，當有標題中外文引號被錯誤轉換，或某些漢字不需要轉換時可以使用。例如：

“Title text”.

如果網頁標題含有「 | 」，請在填寫title參數時把那些「 | 」改成「|」。
