Butterflies is a type of mini-quest featured in Quest Mode Plus.
Gameplay
In the Butterflies QMP mini-quests, each one begins with a random gem at the bottom of the game board transforming into a like-colored Butterfly. After each legal move, the gem moves up one square of the board and another Butterfly appears. Unlike standard, each mini-quest in QMP has some different goals (such as clear a specific number of Butterfly Gems, turn the board to gold, uncover treasures, etc.) before any go beyond the top of the board, where the Spider Gem awaits.
When a Butterfly enters the second row of the game board, the gem starts trembling. When a Butterfly reaches the top of the board, the gem quivers even more and the vertical edges of the board emit a pulsing red glow. If a Butterfly Gem goes past the top of the board, the mini-quest ends in which the Spider Gem captures the Butterfly.
