Arcade is the game mode in Dijeweled Remastered. It is called "Bejeweled Twist classic mode, with no spinner". The game mode involves attempting to score as many points as possible while destroying Bomb and Doom Gems before their counters reach zero.

Gameplay

Arcade mode play with Twist mechanics, but the game uses traditional swapping instead of using the Gem Rotator. Arcade involves attempting to score as many points as possible before any Bomb or Doom Gem reaches zero.

Gameplay features basic rules. Scoring points fills up the bar on the bottom of the screen. When it is full, the player will go to the next level. As the player reaches later levels, more points are required to proceed to the next level, although the score multiplier increases up to 10x if a long enough chain is built.

Beginning the first level, the Bonus Challenge activates. Matching the gems shown on the display in order will award the player 8 notches for the Chain Multiplier and 3 more notches.

Different types of gems begin appearing in later levels.

  • Beginning with level 2, Bomb Gems begin appearing on the game board.
  • Beginning with level 3, Coals and Locks begin appearing on the game board.
  • Beginning with level 13, Doom Gems begin appearing on the game board.

Later levels see the increased frequency of Bomb Gems and Locked Gems. Doom Gems will also come earlier. Later levels also see the Bomb and Doom Gems start at lower counts, with bomb gems starting with 1 count less for each level to a starting count of 7 and Doom gems starting with 1 count less for each level to a starting count of 9 for each level.

If a Bomb Gem's counter reaches 0, the Disarm Spinner will initiate, giving the player one last chance to disarm the bomb. If the Spinner lands on the green side with + sign, the game will continue, and all Bomb and Doom Gems will receive 6 extra ticks. If the Spinner lands on the skulls, the Bomb Gem will explode and end the game. The chance to continue decreases each time the Disarm Spinner is encountered, until only 1 set of gems is on the wheel. If a Doom Gem's counter reaches zero, the Doom Gem will explode instantly and end the game.

Trivia

  • The Hypercube doesn't appear in this game mode. Instead, it replaces with Fruit Gem, a Gem that feature similar roles to the Hypercube.
  • The Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge also doesn't appear when a Fruit Gem detonated.
